ADHD consultation

ADHD consultation

In our practice, we offer an ADHD consultation, in which we are available as experts for the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD in adults. Our treatments are based on individual treatment plans that are developed in close cooperation with the patient. We advise our patients in detail and offer both drug and non-drug therapy options.

The diagnosis of ADHD in adulthood requires a thorough medical history and testing that takes into account the DSM-V and ICD-10 criteria. We attach great importance to treatment that is appropriate to the indication so that we can provide our patients with the best possible support. Our practice is multilingual and we offer consultations in German as well as in English or Persian.

It should be noted that the costs for diagnosing ADHD are usually not covered by statutory health insurance. With us, the diagnosis is therefore usually self-paying. However, privately insured patients should check their tariff details, as the costs are usually covered by private health insurance. We are always at your disposal for further questions.

If the diagnosis of ADHD in adulthood is confirmed, statutory health insurance usually covers the costs of any drug treatment.

Process ADHD diagnostics

The process of diagnosing ADHD in adulthood usually begins with an initial consultation with a specialist in psychiatry and psychiatry. During this conversation, a detailed anamnesis is taken and the reasons for a further examination are explained to the patient. Questions are asked about the current and previous health situation, family history and the development of the patient.

An important part of the diagnosis is a self-assessment form. This is a questionnaire in which the patient can assess and assess his own symptoms. This sheet gives the doctor an insight into the patient's perspective and can help to better understand the symptoms. If available, school or work references are also viewed.

Another important part of the diagnosis is a structured interview. Specific questions are asked about symptoms of hyperactivity, inattention and impulsivity and the patient's symptoms are examined in detail.

All the information collected is then assessed and evaluated by the doctor treating you. A diagnosis is then made and an individual treatment plan is drawn up. It is important to note that the diagnosis of ADHD in adulthood requires a thorough and comprehensive assessment that involves several steps and that takes into account the DSM-V and ICD-10 criteria.
